Denim has been around for years and is constantly transforming. I know I've worn denim since the day I was born. I definitely wasn't wearing skinny jeans but the styles change every year. I'm normally found in jeans that are skinny, boyfriend fit or boot cut. I love the look of boot cut jeans but because I'm on the short side I can't always pull them off. I think they look amazing on taller women, especially paired with heels.
As you can tell from the pictures I brought my daughter, Olivia, along for photos. It's funny how she normally doesn't want to be around me but when I tried to get a few shots I couldn't get her off my leg. I did find a way to entertain her, the picture explains it all!
I mixed denim in this outfit and I will have to say I'm loving the look. You have to be careful when you mix denim because it's not always going to work. I would pick your favorite pair of jeans and then search for a denim top to mix. I picked these distressed Zara skinny jeans, which are my new favorite. They are a darker denim and the distressing gives them an edgy look. I got this Cloth & Stone top at TJ Maxx in the designer section. I have a few other pieces from Cloth & Stone and love the soft fabric. I would recommend trying tops from them if you haven't already. I like the light denim on top of the dark denim. I think it's the perfect way to mix.
The Cuyana tote has been one of my favorite gifts that I received this past year for Christmas. I'm debating making another purchase from them. The size is perfect, I occasionally can't carry bigger totes because of my height. I've also found that this is the perfect fit for Mothers. I can literally throw a million things inside and be out the door in minutes. This is so important with two small children. The gold stamped monogram adds the perfect touch!
The jewelry I chose fits perfectly dressed up or dressed down. The designer is Jordan Jones of J.Elizabeth. Jordan hand makes each piece using precious to semi-precious gemstones. She is currently producing a variety of necklaces and bracelets. They include statement and layering pieces. Layering pieces are very popular right now and I used them in my look above. Follow Jordan on Instagram @_j_elizabeth and visit her website www.jordanelizabethjewelry.com. You won't regret your fabulous purchase!
