I'm back from New York Fashion Week- the first one I've ever experienced. Let's just say it was one of the best experiences and I was so honored to be invited to the shows. It was brutally cold and as a girl from Texas my body just doesn't handle the cold very well BUT I survived.
Under the layers of jackets, scarves and sweaters I did pull out a few fashionable outfits. This one is definitely one of my favorite looks. As a lover of fashion I'm always creating different outfits in my head. I see an amazing fabric or top that I know could be so good if I add the right bottoms or the right accessories. This is exactly what came to my mind when I bought this amazing Self Portrait top and brought it home to my closet. I knew I needed the right bottoms. The piece that you see is actually a dress I bought from the sale at Cheeky Vintage and it's so unique and reminds me of a piece of art I've seen before. This combo was pretty easy because the colors all flow. Sometimes pattern/piece mixing can be tricky because of the colors.
The white button down has been my best friend and was my best friend for NYFW. It's the easiest piece to add to any dress or top to give it a more sophisticated look. I literally probably wore it under a dress or top everyday I was there. It's a great go-to piece that you can add under that summer dress you might not wear during the winter because it doesn't have sleeves. Try it out!
These booties are unfortunately sold out but I've linked two similar pairs above. I bought these right before I left and got them on sale from Nordstrom, they are Top Shop. I seriously don't know how I've survived without out. I was stopped and asked numerous times about them on the streets of New York. They add a touch of edge and sophistication to every outfit. You seriously need to check out the booties I've linked above and consider buying a pair. You definitely won't regret it you can wear them with everything!
