The school year has come to an end and another year of teaching is under my belt. It's crazy how quickly time goes by each year. I think it gets faster! I'm sad to say goodbye to my kid's amazing teachers and can't believe I will be saying I have a boy in Pre-K already. They have both grown tremendously this year and I couldn't be a prouder parent as they move forward. We have been so blessed to attend an amazing school with wonderful teachers. Let Summer break begin! Momma better start planning fun and key word "entertaining" activities.
How are you celebrating Memorial Day or Memorial Day weekend? Maybe you are hanging out with family or having a dinner party. It's a day we remember those who have served in the armed forces. It's such a special day to think back especially as I remember a dear friend that we lost soon after graduating high school. He was a character and had such a fun personality, he happened to be my prom date senior year. Whoever you remember take a second to think about all of those special people who gave their time and lives for us as we stand here today. I'll be sporting my red, white and blue and I hope you will as well.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy setting a table. I'm sure it's obvious from all of the table setting post. I could literally do it for hours just to make sure everything is perfect. The most important thing is to have fresh flowers. It's going to make every table look 100 times better. I promise! I also like to play around with the napkins. I can't tell you how many ways there are to place a cloth napkin. I decided to leave the napkin rings empty and use them as decoration on top of the salad plate and placed the napkins under the dinner plate. I think this look is very clean. It leaves all the edges in place and keeps it formal.
Are you obsessed with gold flatware? I am more than obsessed. I just keep thinking how can I get my hands on a set? The problem is right now I don't even have a dining room so I don't see the point. The minute I get a dining room back those are the first thing on my list. They add a formal pop to the table and go well with so many other pieces that I currently have in my house. It's meant to be! :)
