I'm BAAACK and I can't believe my last blog post was September 12, 2016. I'm sure you've all wondered what the heck is going on? I know I would have thought the same thing. The end of 2016 had man ups and downs and I decided it was best for me and my family to take a little break from the blog. I have to say it has felt amazing but I'm very happy to be back. I hope you will check back weekly because I have some amazing things coming up in the next few weeks.
Where were you? Well, in the past few months I've had two miscarriages, sold a house, bought a house, lived with my in-laws, remodeled a house and finally moved in to our new home. It's been quite the ride. I definitely haven't lost my love for fashion or interior design or motherhood ideas. I just haven't had a spare second to share them with you. I realized that my break needed to happen not only for myself to emotionally and physically heal but for my family. I've spent so much time with my little ones and my husband, of course. It was definitely the best decision I've made in a long time. I run this blog and my social media channels by myself and most of the time I'm typing away while everybody in my house is asleep. Since I work full-time it is hard to find a spare second. When I started this blog I was staying up way too late and waking up way too early. I've figured out how to manage my time a little better, thankfully. That's enough of the "mushy" stuff, let's talk FASHION!
I've been eyeing this sweatshirt for over a year and my mother-in-law surprised me with it at Christmas. I was so excited! I know the weather in Texas doesn't allow me to wear it that often but that makes it even more special for those times I do get to flaunt it. It gives an edgy look and I've paired it with numerous things. This one might be my favorite. It fits a little cropped so it looks best with high waisted bottoms. Unfortunately it's sold out and you probably can't find it anywhere but I've linked some similar items below. It will give the same look!
I found this skirt last year at Target, yes TARGET, can you believe it? I love the one from J.Crew but couldn't pass up this one because it's just so good! I've also paired this top with jeans and sneakers for a casual look that I wore running around taking care of a few errands.
I've kind of hat this thing with hats lately. They hide my dirty hair but give an outfit a whole new meaning. Have you invested in a good hat? If not, check out my options below.
I'm saying goodbye to 2016 and not looking back! Thanks for following along and I hope you will continue to check back for new post and forgive me for my absence. Don't forget you can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and SnapChat (Simplyollie). Have a great day!
