I hope all the Mothers out there had a fabulous Sunday being pampered and relaxing.  We didn't get back home yesterday until later in the afternoon but Andrew was so sweet and let me take a two hour nap.  It was much needed after the amazing night we had on Saturday.  We spent Saturday evening out at a friend's ranch who definitely knows how to throw a party.  We were celebrating my Mother-in-law, her best friend and their daughters who will all turn 60 and 30 this year.  Such a big year! The party was catered with BBQ, of course. It was amazing and hit the spot.  It was my cheat day so pretty much anything other than a shake is pretty awesome. They also had the best music from a band named Skyrockets our of Austin, Texas.  We danced our tushies off and probably drank too much.  Let's just say it was a great weekend.

I'm sure for most of you the wedding invitations are flying through the mail slot at this time of the year. It's wedding season my friends! That means many things but for me that means finding dresses that can be versatile and not just sit in my closet for years after I wear it once. You're not going to believe but this dress is another Goodwill find! It was $10 dollars and I just couldn't resist.  I don't really have that many places to wear it right now but I did a little "fashion brainstorming" and realized I could tie this ivory silk button down over it and give it a whole new look. Don't you think it would be cute for a luncheon or night out with the girls to dinner? I've also thought about re-working the dress and making it two pieces.  I get those thoughts a lot.

The problem that I always have is when it comes to "Black-Tie" weddings the dresses get insanely expensive.  I will literally freak out about it for months.  I hate buying these crazy expensive dresses and then only having the opportunity to wear them once a year. I think when you get that invite that says "Black-Tie" then you need to really think about your dress purchase.  Try to think of a fabric that looks really nice but is also easy to dress down so you can wear it to different events throughout the year.
