Does anything get better than a classic trench? I think not! It's crazy to think that trench coats were first made for soldiers.  They needed a uniform/jacket that would be very durable and resist water.  As times have changed I'm sure the design has been altered a little but they still look very similar.  The buttons and the belt are pretty staple pieces.  I feel like each brand adds different elements to the trench to make it their own.  I have to say the belt and collar is pretty much my favorite part of the trench coat.  The belt helps my petite body have shape.  When I wear longer styled coats and they aren't fitted sometimes things just don't look right. This J.Crew trench is very comfortable and really sticks to the classic look.

When I thought about styling this trench coat I had a lot of thoughts all at once.  Then I decided I really wanted to keep it very classic and maybe a touch of Jackie O, hints the sunglasses.  I paired the trench coat with skinny black jeans which are another staple piece.  This pair is Banana Republic and I've worn them numerous time. Great buy!

The Louis Vuitton speedy is that bag just will go with just about everything and never goes out of style, duh! It's a classic.  I added the scarf to the handle for just a little pop of design. How would you wear your trench coat? I would love to hear from you.
